Mandatory from 2025!
These 2 Obligations Apply Since February 2025
While many are still waiting for 2026, the EU AI Act is already reality. Since February 2, 2025, two core obligations are in effect for every company. We show you what you need to implement immediately.
1. The AI Act is Here - And It Affects You
The widespread belief that the EU AI Act would only become relevant in 2026 is a dangerous mistake. The regulation provides for staggered implementation, and the first crucial stage has already been triggered: Since February 2, 2025, binding rules apply to all companies using AI.
It's no longer about preparing for the future, but about meeting current legal requirements. Ignoring is not an option and can lead to significant sanctions.
“Compliance is no longer a future task. Since February 2025, it's a daily obligation for every company using AI.”
2. These 2 Obligations Apply Since February 2025
Prohibited AI Systems (Art. 5)
Systems with unacceptable risk (e.g., social scoring by authorities, emotion recognition in the workplace) are no longer permitted. Use and placing on the market are prohibited.
AI Competence Obligation (Art. 4)
Companies must ensure that employees working with AI systems have adequate AI competence ('AI Literacy').
3. Your 4-Step Roadmap to Compliance
Start now with a structured approach to meet current requirements and stay on the safe side.
1. Conduct AI Inventory
Record all AI systems used in the company - from HR software to marketing tools.
2. Check for Prohibited Practices
Compare your inventory list with the prohibitions in Article 5 and document the results.
3. Determine Training Needs
Identify all employees who use AI and define the necessary scope of AI competence training.
4. Implement Action Plan
Conduct the necessary training and ensure prohibited systems are shut down.
4. Conclusion: Act Instead of Wait
“The AI Act is not a paper tiger. It's a law with sharp teeth - and the first ones are already biting.”
The obligations under the AI Act are no longer distant future music. Compliance with prohibitions and training your employees are immediate legal requirements. Proactive action protects against fines and creates legal certainty.
